We love wedding fairs, we love talking to brides and hearing where and when you're getting married and all about your big day. We love talking wedding dresses and corsets and when colour is mentioned our ears prick up - we love colour.
Every so often a bride comes along that really ticks our boxes and makes the creative juices flow - the mature, second time around bride! We love you, we want to create your dress for you but we can't keep calling you 'mature' or 'second time around' - these words really don't describe you.
Pleats, by M KasaharaWe've been keeping our eyes peeled and have noticed a few trends appearing for 2010 weddings. Take a look and add any you've seen!
We are very excited to announce the launch of our brand new range of corsets and skirts for special occasions.
Our collection ranges from bodices with simple lines and hidden structure to a more traditional Victorian corset, guaranteed to flatter any figure and (from personal experience) are surprisingly very comfortable to wear. Even on a bouncy castle and fairground rides! And they’re very good for keeping your tummy in after eating a big meal.
We ordered something from Figleaves and loved the wording inside the box it came in - fits in with our sentiment exactly!
“We are a small collective - guys and girls - who share a passion for things that are beautiful yet real. We love scents that carry perfect notes; stripped back silks, and the touch of fresh linen. We love the exhilaration of climbing between cotton sheets with a high thread count. But we are passionate about people too and believe everybody should live with a touch of luxury.”
You hear wedding, you think church, registry office or maybe a sunny beach destination. But what about the barns, boats, castles and zoos that are also available. Not to forget the London Eye. Gone are the days when breaking from (wedding?) tradition is frowned upon and with weddings being such important and personal celebrations it is vital people have the day they’ve always wanted.
As anyone who has seen the Steve Martin flick ‘Father of the Bride’ knows, sometimes shoes are too glam to be hidden away under a frock.
2009 promises to be the year of coloured wedding shoes. Getting coloured shoes is a great idea, for many reasons – you can wear them again, for one thing (those white silk heels are unlikely to get many outings, if simply because they’ll get filthy!). You could pick the colour of your flowers, or even a metallic shade. Black is a definite no-no – leave that for your guests.
